MOTION GRAPHIC DESIGNER @ IES 

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Motion Graphic Designer to join our creative team, driven by a desire to spark curiosity in the viewer and capture a sense of wonder. As an integral part of production in our studio, the Motion Graphic Designer will be a major contributor in the creative process, offering ideas, concepts, and eye-catching design, willing to learn and share ideas.  

 

Daily responsibilities: 

  • Create Animated UIs for computer screens and vehicle consoles appearing inside our announced animated series 
  • Create animated title sequences and particles 
  • Work with the Supervisor and Art Director on the visual achieved in the final frames and discuss how to transfer the work of motion graphic into the final product 
  • Create 2.5D and 3D inserts to be used in compositing 
  • Communicate problems and showstoppers to the supervisor to get them resolved in a timely fashion 
  • Maintain timing and production quotas given by the production coordinator visible in the ShotGrid Dashboard 
  • Actively participate in team/department meetings 

Qualifications and skills: 

  • 2 years of experience in a professional environment or 3+ years of work experience in similar job positions. A degree in Fine Arts, CGI, or related field is an asset.  
  • Art portfolio related to the references above 

*Degree and work experience requirements may be waived if candidates can show exceptional skills 

  • High degree of creativity and imagination 
  • Strong eye for detail 
  • Great knowledge of Adobe After Effects 
  • Ready to learn new software, acquire new knowledge and follow the latest technologies 
  • Ability to take direction positively  
  • Receive and implement feedback quickly and effectively 
  • It is necessary to adapt to work in advanced project management and ability to work as part of a team in a high-intensity environment  
  • Cooperate effectively with artists and interact with other departments 
  • Basic written and verbal skills in English 

It’s a plus if you:  

  • Have experience as a Motion Graphic Designer in an animation, gaming, or film production environment 
  • Have basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 
  • Can work in Cinema 3D, Maya, Max, or other 3D software
