Daily responsibilities:
- Edits and manages animated episodes during pre-production and post-production
- Works with storyboards, animation, music, and sound to create exciting and memorable content
- Must be able to operate with varying degrees of supervision. Takes ownership when needed, while remaining flexible for collaboration and iteration
- Facilitates content reviews and implements director’s notes
- Ingests, organizes, and updates footage; pulls music and sound effects from our library; locates archival assets necessary to support assignment objectives
- Generates reviewable files, outputs for Sound, and works closely with assistant editors to hand off master sequences for final processing and delivery
- Prioritizes workflows and identifies the right order in which to complete tasks
- Understands and follows production guidelines
- Maintains the production pipeline and meets deadlines
- Provides timely corrections at the request of production
Qualifications and skills:
- 3+ years of experience in a professional environment and work proving this. Degree in Film or related field is an asset.
- Art portfolio related to the references above
- *Degree and work experience requirements may be waived if candidates can show exceptional skills
- Advanced in DaVinci Resolve and other necessary software
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Package (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects)
- Excellent understanding of storytelling, photography, film and film direction
- Ready to learn new software and acquire new knowledge and follow technologies
- Good sense of timing, pacing, sound design and controlling story flow through editing – including a demonstrable understanding of good composition, screen direction and continuity
- Experience interfacing with colleagues and artists outside of post-production (e.g. Storyboarding, Sound, Compositing, VFX, 3D etc.)
- Knowledge of current post-production industry-standard workflows and archival organization
- It is necessary to adapt to work in larger teams and advanced project management
- High attention to details
- Ability to work as part of a team in dynamic environment, team-oriented, and cooperative
