Why are we looking for you?
We are looking for talented Scriptwriters with a great sense of humor and an aptitude for writing fun, entertaining, short-format episodes to join our creative gang. As a part of production, the scriptwriters are tasked with developing story ideas and presenting them in the form of scripts which are then used to create short, animated episodes.
Daily responsibilities
- Pitching your story ideas
- Writing scripts, closely following the guidelines of the project and script formatting
- Rewriting scripts and addressing notes left by the Editor
- Coming up with themes and ideas for upcoming projects
- Developing plots and characters within the project
- Participating in weekly Writer’s Rooms with the rest of the scriptwriting team
- Collaborating with Directors, Storyboard artists, Editor and Production on realizing the episodes through the pre-production phase
Qualifications and skills:
- 2+ years of work experience as a scriptwriter or 3+ years of work experience in a similar job position. Degree in dramaturgy, creative writing, or related field is an asset.
- *Degree and work experience requirements may be waived if candidates can show exceptional skills
- Excellent writing skills
- High degree of creativity and imagination
- Knowledge of proper script formatting
- Ability to take direction positively
- Receives and implements feedback quickly and effectively
- Self-motivated and driven
- Team-oriented and cooperative
- Strong writing and comprehension skills in English
It’s a plus if you have:
- Experience in writing short-format and/or animation scripts
- Experience in writing for a young audience
